admiral has also improved.today was the first time in months that she asked questions and understood farm/business matters. i thought he'd rule it out flat but ,to my surprise, he was open to the idea.we'll seeįeeling a little happier in myself.as i've ticked the jobs off there are fewer directions to be pushed/pulled in. then 20 acres arable grass.'if you've enough sheep to graze it?'.he'd noticed our reduction.said i might have it for hay. but tbh flock has shrunk so alarmingly that i think i'll pause.the couples trade doesn't sound great anyway.neighbour stopped me this morning and offered the usual 6ac hay meadow. sold out now bar one 30kg beltex ewe lamb and 3 screwy ram lambs.spent the journey to /from contemplating what to sell next. found enough to make abattoir run worthwhile. they got back out and back into main flock by morning. a very suspicious stainįirst run of lambs vaccinated and wormed wednesday.found two nice fat ewe lambs. had to wander around all day with.lets say. gentle tug on again.nowt.'ffs no milk' i swear as tug a third time in frustration.'oh no there it is'.a thick line of colostrum squirted right across the front of my clean jumper. well today i well and truly 'raised' (or lowered ) the bar'.clean jumper.ewe struggling slightly so gave a hand pulling lamb.came easy enough.whipped lamb to ewes head i thought 'just check milk whilst she's distracted'. y'know when you meet someone with food stains on their top?.what do you think?.slob?.idiot?.well spare a thought for us 'spillagely challenged'.everytime i put a clean top on sods law something happens.other day.clean porridge slick and no matter how quickly you try to remove/clean it just looks worse. had a case of staggers today.NEVER had that before.warmth and nitrogen brought on grass to quick i reckon.we'd been taking a little barley out whilst checking (bucket training) but last coupla days ewes not really bothered Saturday marked the 34th day after lambing.third heat cycle.finally our stragglers are lambing.all singles but who cares tbh.a single better than an empty i guess.still a dozen to go. Got little bitta grass sprayed today.worked out i only do 50 acres of spraying/yr now.not even one tank load for many Sunday.essential with carers/hospital.admiral has had copd 'incident' later with new meds admiral was very mutinous.being quite rude to nurses.took me hour and a half to calm her down.get her reasonable and settled cos she was not ready for dischargeīitta headache on way home so 'declared' for day workwise.yorkies came over for fish'n chips later.my treat. cept time was getting on.i calculated a time line i needed.go to see admiral.45 mins there.hour visit.45 mins back.afternoon chores.30 mins travelling.i was already behind schedule and ,in the end, it didn't pan out. K and i spent some time having a sort out and fettlin.she went and i rinsed the sprayer ready to go and spray bitta grass at fil's.wind and weather perfect. we'll seeīack home phoned hospital.nurse handed the phone to admiral.who immediately demanded i go get her. bit of a muddle.normally i'd go and help him sort/organise but i'm barely looking after my affairs at present. one of the auditors asked if i would do an interview about 'our side of it'.i think i'll decline and keep my head anville hasn't been selling enough sheep.then a ram got in with his lambs. Mart run quite straight forward.masks went down well. triaged that.then 'sorted' lambs.sometimes i think K is 'wooly' interpreting my 'hurdler tactics'.hmm granville. sods law.ewe with 1 dead and one lively.another single abandoned ewe in bad shape. i got trailer on and was backing to barn.i told granville to check lambing section.we'd had nothing for days BUT. anville had asked if he could ride with me to mart.after our 'difficult friday' i wasn't really ready like usual.we arrived about 7am. called doctor.who ,after finally arriving, promptly called an ambulance
